CableDown PulloverCableDown Pullover
This elegant yet casual crew neck pullover is easy to knit from the neck down. It sports three sweet cables: one under the neckline, and one along the top of each sleeve.

Our First Sweater Pattern!

Pattern features:

  • Top-down construction for ease of finishing (no seaming!)
  • Rope cables at tops of shoulders continue to cuff and twist in opposite directions for a sweet detail
  • Wheatear cable from base of neckline is created by twisting two rope cables in opposite directions—easy to remember & easy to work
  • Expanded range of sizes for bust sizes 36" to 50"
  • Reverse-stockinette rolled edging for a casual look that translates well to youthful or mature wardrobes

Materials:

  • Worsted-weight yarn (4.5-5 sts/1") knit down to 21sts/4"
  • US 7 (4.5 mm) circular needles: 24", 16" and DPNs
    (or use 2-circulars or Magic Loop methods for sleeves)
  • Cable needle


Linen-Stitch Messenger BagLinen-Stitch Messenger Bag
This half-woven-half-knit stitch pattern creates a firm fabric ideal for heavy schlepping. Complete with colorful stripes and a key fob, it'll be your new favorite bag!

Pattern features:

  • Linen stitch pattern notes, with instructions for a slip-stitch selvage that means no edging is necessary!
  • Pieces are worked separately, then seamed for maximum stability
  • Applied I-cord edge around inside upper bag opening makes opening easy to see – and I-cord continues past edge to make a handy key fob!
  • Flat bottom and tapered sides make for great storage but slim profile
  • Easy to adjust strap length for a custom fit

Materials:

  • 750 yards plant-fiber yarn (such as hemp, cotton, or linen) DK- to light-worsted weight (5-5.5 sts/1")
  • US 6 (4.25 mm) needles, any format
  • Darning needle for sewing up
  • Optional: Key chain loop or other hardware for key fob
