I (finally) got my act together and started an Unpattern group on Ravelry. So now we'll have a venue for easy two-way communication about your Unpattern projects. Got a question about gauge or swatching? Measuring? Top-Down vs. Bottom-Up? Ask, and we'll be able to walk through the process together.

With a Flickr account, you can even post photos of your finished objects as well, or link to them in your projects.

Not a member of Ravelry yet? With over 600,000 knitters worldwide, and a database of patterns and yarn information, it's an amazing resource for knitters. Set up your free account today and go look around – you'll be amazed how you ever did without it!

I'm happy to report that we're just about all packed and ready to go to the TNNA Fall show in Columbus, Ohio. (Ask us how we fit a trade show booth and clothing for two people into two suitcases!)

We'll be there all weekend, in Booth 114. Come by and say hi! We'd love to hear how your customers are enjoying working with the Unpatterns.

(Oh, and if you have questions about constructing workshops with Unpatterns, I'd love to talk you through some of that as well, time permitting.)

See you in Columbus!
Karen

Question #1: Where can I get Unpatterns?

Great question! So glad you asked. ; )

If you are looking for a printed Unpattern on gorgeous coverstock paper, check our list of stores across the country and across the border who stock them. Please support your local yarn store -- they are your best resource for inspiration and assistance. When the going gets tough with your knitting, there's no replacement for a great local shop with good staff. And if you don't support them now, they won't be there when you need them most!

If your local shop doesn't carry them, or you would prefer to work from a downloaded .pdf file, take a moment to create your (free! easy!) account on Patternfish, the online pattern resource par excellence. I'm so happy that my 10 Unpatterns are part of their extensive inventory of (nearly 5,000!) patterns from near and far. Eminently searchable and browsable, super-functional (every pattern you buy stays in your personal library, where you will be informed when updated versions of your patterns become available), Patternfish is a huge resource for knitters around the globe.

But there's one more way to get Unpatterns this weekend (February 25-28): at Stitches West marketplace! Three fabulous vendors will be carrying my Unpatterns, while they last, in their booths! Stop by YarnDogs in booths 626-628, Carolina Homespun (I'll find the booth numbers this afternoon), and Chameleon Colorworks. Thanks to Deborah, Morgaine, and Nancy for the opportunity to display Unpatterns at Stitches, and for letting lots of happy knitters get their yarn-filled hands on them asap!

But now, it's my turn to dive into the giant creative maw that is Stitches West. If you see me there, say hi! I'll be teaching two sweater classes tomorrow (Friday), then an all-day Fair Isle class (Saturday), and Linen Stitch (Sunday morning).

Tally ho, and knit on!
Karen.

New Unpatterns Website Launched!

Welcome over from the brand-spanking new Unpatterns website!
